USAfrica: The new Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, has appointed 39-year old Shola Olatoye, a daughter of Nigerian immigrants, as chairwoman of the influential New York City Housing Authority.
Ms. Olatoye, until recently served as vice president at Enterprise Community Partners, an organization which pushes the interest of affordable housing in the U.S. She was a former vice President of HSBC.
